Bristol Development Authority
The Bristol Development Authority (BDA) works to improve the physical, economic, and social environment of the Bristol Community by serving as the primary governmental organization dedicated to promoting commercial development, to preserving and improving the city's housing stock, and to securing and administering the resources required to carry out these goals.
The Bristol Development Authority (BDA) fosters an environment that is supportive of economic development and growth. The BDA manages a number of economic development incentive programs to encourage the retention, expansion, relocation, or creation of new businesses within the City. These incentive programs include grants, tax abatements, and more. The BDA serves as the lead municipal agency for retail, industrial/distribution, and downtown development, including coordinating the exciting Centre Square downtown development project.
Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA)
The NAA Tax Credit Program is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax exempt organizations through business tax credit incentives.
Community Development Block Grant Program
Programs and projects that utilize U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development formula funding according to a five-year Consolidated Plan and an Annual Action Plan.
Housing Rehab Program
The Bristol Development Authority offers a Residential Housing Rehabilitation Program for major home and energy efficiency improvements that benefit low- and moderate-income Bristol homeowners. Grants are available to reimburse up to 50% of approved costs for improvements made to owner-occupied homes.
Grants and Brownfields
Secure funding for a variety of city-wide projects. Obtains and administers grants to remediate contaminated properties known as Brownfields.

The Bristol Development Authority also produces a monthly television show featuring unique aspects of living in Bristol including popular attractions, museums, human interest stories, and stories about interesting people in the community. Titled "Uniquely Bristol," the 30-minute program airs four times a week during each month.
