I have moved out of state and have registered my vehicle out of state. How do I get my vehicle off the tax rolls for the City of Bristol?
Return your Connecticut plates to the DMV, 60 State St., Wethersfield, CT 06161 and request a receipt. Once you have registered your vehicle in the new state, send to the Assessor’s Office a copy of your new registration and the cancellation of the plates received from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Please note that the CT Department of Motor Vehicles does not inform the city when plates are returned or when vehicles are sold, registered out of state, or otherwise disposed of.
