What are the permit fee amounts?
The permit fee schedule has been adopted under section 5-19 of the Bristol Code of Ordinance.

What times can I apply for a permit?
Permits can be applied for from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays that the Bristol City Hall is closed.

How can I make a code enforcement (zoning, blight, tall grass) complaint?
To register a complaint regarding the condition of a property or what may be a zoning violation, you can call our main number (860) 584-6215 or by email to the

or the
building official

What is “blight”?
Blight is defined as “conditions that include, but are not limited to the following: structural deterioration, lack of maintenance, infestation, fire hazards, accumulating refuse on private property, storage of two or more unregistered vehicles (junk yard) and unsanitary conditions.” The sections of the city ordinance which deals with these issues are listed under
Article V
sections 5-46 through 5-58.
