    The management of the city retirement system shall be vested in a retirement board consisting of ten members, as follows:
  • A member of the City Council
  • A member of the Board of Finance
  • Comptroller
  • City Treasurer 
  • 3 electors of the city, none of whom shall be an officer or employee of the city, 
  • 1 elector of the city who shall be a member of the city's employees local number 1338 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, 
  • 1 elector of the city who shall be a member of the city's employees Bristol Professionals and Supervisors Association (BPSA)
  • Mayor 

The board consists of ten members serving five-year terms with the exception of:
  • One council member – Two-year term
  • One Board of Finance member – Three-year term
