With the construction of Wheeler Health, By Carrier Centre Square Village, and the impending development of Parcel 10 at Centre Square and the Hope Street garage, the City of Bristol has developed a map to give the community several parking options when visiting the downtown area.
Renovations to City Hall are expected to be completed by October and a new Municipal parking garage is being built behind the Bristol Police Station, which is also expected to be finished in October. The municipal garage will accommodate parking for City employees and will be available for the public to park when visiting City Hall.
“With the multiple projects coming together all at once it is important that visitors to the downtown area be informed of where they can park for easy access to businesses along Main Street, and North Main Street,” stated Mayor Caggiano.
By Carrier has completed the purchase of the entire parcel facing North Main Street between Hope Street and McDonalds. Construction is underway for Phase I, eliminating the empty lot that was being used for parking across the street from City Hall and the Bristol Police Station. In addition, the repurchase of Parcel 10 facing Main Street has been completed and will not be available for parking once construction begins.
“The Economic & Community Development team has created a public parking map to provide visitors to the downtown area with information where they can park on a weekday, at night, and on weekends,” stated Justin Malley, Executive Director of Economic and Community Development. “The community is encouraged to continue to visit the downtown area restaurants, businesses, and the weekly seasonal Farmers Market while construction in downtown continues, and we want to make it as easy as possible to find parking.”
The map is conveniently posted and can be downloaded from the Bristol All Heart website at: https://www.bristolallheart.com.
