On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the Bristol Water and Sewer Department will continue flushing hydrants in the following areas:
Farrell Avenue, Matthews Street, Natalie Court, Terryville Avenue, Mill Street, Putnum Street, West Street, Frances Street, Haviland Street, Steele Road, North Main Street, Center Street, Valley Street, Race Street, Foley Street, Meadow Street, Laurel Street, North Street, Lincoln Street, Ingraham Place, Burlington Avenue, North Main Street, Missett Street, Crescent Drive, Williams Street, Conlon Street, and some of the surrounding areas. We will continue flushing this area until the next area is posted.
We will flush hydrants on these streets and the adjacent areas starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m., to allow customers to run their cold water until it runs clear. Low pressure and discolored water is to be expected during flushing and for short periods afterwards. We recommend you refrain from washing clothes during this period. You should run an outside faucet or the cold water in your bathtub until the water runs clear.
