[ARCHIVED] Hydrant Flushing Notice starting February 20, 2024

Hydrant Flushing (2)

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Bristol Water and Sewer Department will kick off the 2024 hydrant flushing season.  The following areas may be affected:

Chapel Street, Princeton Street, Dorset Horn Lane, Great Pyrenees Way, Southdown Drive, Suffolk Place, Larkspur Lane, and Westwood Road, and some of the surrounding areas.  We will continue flushing this area until the next area is posted.

We will flush hydrants on these streets and the adjacent areas starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m., to allow customers to run their cold water until it runs clear. Low pressure and discolored water is to be expected during flushing and for short periods afterwards. We recommend you refrain from washing clothes during this period. You should run an outside faucet or the cold water in your bathtub until the water runs clear.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
