Planned Maintenance at the Broad Street Pump Station August 25 -August 29.
- Broad Street Pump Station (200 Broad Street) is the City’s main pumping station, pumping nearly 4 million gallons of wastewater per day to the Wastewater Treatment Facility located on Battisto Road; ensuring this pump station’s operations are uninterrupted 24/7 is a priority and imperative in preventing possible sewer backups for two-thirds of the City’s residents and businesses.
- The work associated for the maintenance requires utility power to be de-energized to the station from Eversource. The pumping station will be powered by rental emergency generators 24/7 until work is completed;
- Work will begin on August 25th and continue through August 29th with staff monitoring throughout the entirety of the project;
- The rental generators will be located on-site in an area that will have the least impact on noise produced. In addition, a fence will be installed around the perimeter of generators with acoustical panels/material to help mitigate noise produced from the operation of the generator. Only one generator will be operational at any time, the second generator will serve ONLY as a back-up in the event of a failure.
