On May 24, 2019, former lieutenant Richard Guerrera (C), was promoted to the rank of police captain. He was formerly the division commander in the Community Relations Division. Friends, family, and co-workers joined the new captain in a ceremony at police headquarters as he took the oath of office. Guerrera will assume the role as patrol bureau commander.
